Privacy policy

Last updated 1 March 2026. Guess The Movie is designed to work without accounts, so we collect as little as possible.

What we collect

Display name. The name you choose is stored in your browser and, when you join a multiplayer room, saved with that room so other players can see your position on the leaderboard.

Game data. Room codes, room settings, round progress and scores. Completed runs may post a final score and display name to the public all-time leaderboard.

Technical data. Standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and timestamps, used for security and abuse prevention.

What we never collect

We do not ask for an email address, a password, a phone number or a payment method. We do not build advertising profiles ourselves and we do not sell personal data.

Local storage

Your display name and an anonymous device identifier are kept in your browser's local storage so the game recognises you on your next visit. Clearing your browser data removes both, and you will simply be asked for a name again.

Cookies and advertising

This site displays advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this and other sites.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through Google's Ads Settings, and you can manage third-party cookies in your browser settings. Where required by law, we ask for consent before personalised advertising cookies are set.

Children

The game is suitable for general audiences but is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Please contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information.

Your rights

You may ask us to remove a display name or a leaderboard entry at any time through the contact page. Because we hold no account data, removal requests are handled by matching the display name and approximate time of play.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top.
