About Guess The Movie

Guess The Movie is a free browser game. A movie title is hidden behind character boxes, spaces and punctuation stay visible, and you reveal the title one character at a time — or gamble and solve the whole thing at once.

What makes it different

Most word games use dictionary words. We use cinema. The library holds over two thousand titles spanning seven decades of Hollywood, Bollywood and Tollywood releases, each with hints drawn from the cast, the director and the plot. That means a round rewards film knowledge as much as letter frequency.

No accounts, ever

You pick a display name once and the game remembers it on your device. There is no sign-up form, no password and no email. Your name exists so friends can recognise you on a room leaderboard, and nothing more.

Play together

Create a room, share the invite link, and everyone plays the same titles in the same order while scores update live for the whole room. It works equally well across a dinner table or across continents.

How we keep it free

The game is supported by advertising placed outside the play area. Ads never appear over the tiles or the keyboard, because a puzzle you cannot read is not a game.
