How to play
Two minutes of reading and you will never need this page again.
1. Read the board
Every letter and digit of the title is hidden behind a box. Spaces, colons, hyphens and punctuation are always visible, so the shape of the title is a clue from the very first second.
2. Guess one character at a time
Tap the on-screen keyboard or use your physical keyboard. The layout is QWERTY and includes digits and the characters that actually appear in film titles. Every matching box flips open at once. A character you have already tried is rejected and does not cost you anything.
3. Mind the guess budget
Your budget is the number of meaningful characters in the title multiplied by two (capped at 26). Run out and the round is lost, so save the rare consonants for when you need them.
4. Or solve the whole title
Type the complete title into the solve bar at any point. A correct solve reveals everything and banks your remaining time and guesses. A wrong solve costs ten seconds and breaks your streak.
5. Use the hints
Three hints — genre and year, cast or director, and a spoiler-free plot line — unlock progressively as the clock runs down. You can also reveal one early, at a cost of 25 points.
6. Scoring
A solved round scores 200 points, plus 6 per second remaining, plus 10 per unused guess, minus 25 per hint revealed, plus 40 for each round in your current streak. Minimum 50 points for a solve. A loss scores zero and resets the streak.
7. Playing with friends
Create a room and share the invite link. Everyone gets the same titles in the same order and the room leaderboard updates live while you play.
